| The objective of a disentanglement puzzle is to free one piece of it. This is usually a ring or some other shape forming a loop. They are
typically made from wire or string (rope) combined with wooden posts or beads. I think it's amazing that you can spend hours with only two parts, trying to free the pieces from each other. On this site you see some of my favorite disentanglements. |

This old box with "Liliput" disentanglements is the oldest puzzle in my collection. It was a gift of Steffi Schmid. |

| In the box was an easy Chinese-Ring-Puzzle. I say easy because it has only 5 rings. The more difficult puzzles have 7 or 9 rings. | ![]() |

This puzzle is
linked to a nice memory: Some years ago my father had to stay in hospital and I gave him this puzzle to kill time. He tried several days but couldn't find the solution. When I visited him he asked me: "Are you sure that it works?" and he got the puzzle out if his pocket. .... And suddenly he had to separate pieces in his hand. I will never forget his face! You spend hours on finding the solution and then it falls in two pieces by itself. |
